This is my first blog written here at Impulsedriven.com and really my first real Blog anywhere (I have a small one on my MySpace page, but it really doesn't say anything). I'd like to take a minute to tell you a little about myself.
I am an avid gamer. I LOVE to play video games (PC. console or handhelf), pen and paper games and collectible card games. I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember. It all started with my great grandfather. He owned an Atari 2600 and would take my sister and I down into his basement to play it when we went to visit him and my great grandmother. With my first game of pong against my sister I was hooked (I can't remember who won). Eventually I bought myself an Atari 7800, moved up to the Nintendo and kept getting new systems as my savings would allow. My mother sort of helped by making me sell my old system and the games for it to help finance the new system. There is only one problem with my love of the game. I love ALL the games, which means I finish very few of them. I think you could count the number of games I have legally beat on two hands and have fingers left over. It's like I have a bizzare form of ADD. I can sit and watch the entire Extended Edition of Lord of the Rings with only taking quick breaks for food and bathroom use, but yet I can't play one specific video game for more than 3 or 4 hours. I also usually end up getting distracted by another video game a couple weeks into a new game. If I had OCD I think I might have pulled my hair out long ago...
Needless to say I was very excited when I found out Starcraft 2 was in the works. I loved the original and it's expansion. I even used cheat codes once I hit my skill limit so that I could finish them and find out how it ended. When I found out yesterday that Diablo 3 was in the works I was blown away. FINALLY! There was only one small hitch I realized. I had never finished either Diablo or Diablo 2. A sort of despairing need started to sink into my heart. I realized that I very badly wanted to beat both games and to see the FULL story before Diablo 3 is released.
I do not know if I can complete my quest, if my heart can remain true to this calling... But I'm going to give it a shot. I will try to come back on a weekly basis and give updates on my progress. I hope I can do it this time, and considering I recently dropped WoW I should have more time and less distractions to do it with.
Wish me luck!
