'Hypothetical' question

Lets say 'hypotheitcally' that you are in eigth grade. You are just
leaving a school dance at 9 0'clock You see your friend and you
start talking politics, hypotheitcally. He says that a kid named
Chase has his dad on the school board and he is a libertarian.
Then you find your mom waiting to pick you up. Then you see
that Chase is parked next to you and is getting in his car to.
So you , hypotheitcally, say Kerry for President and point to your
KerryEdwards bumper sticker . Then his dad walks by looks you, hypotheitcally,
in the eyes points to the bumper sticker and says "That is the
epitome of the short bus".

You, hypotheitcally, respond with a saracastic laugh and say "Ha Ha
insulting little children, how low can you get?"

Now you have the background story the question is...

Do you report him?

For those of you who don't know epitome, more or less, means poster
child, and politically incorrect or not, the short bus implies the disabled
or retarded. So this man on the school board not only degraded the disabled,
but intimadated a student by saying he supported the poster child of retards
and was flat out mean. Keep in mind the parents elected that man to
represent the school.

Do you tell the principal or the Dean of Students?

I am, hypotheitcally, relying on someone to give me good advice.

Neither. This is America and he is entitled to his opinions no matter how, stupid, ignorant or raceist they might be!

I reckon you should report him. The guy sounds like a total asshole, and completely deserves to have his every move dogged by rumours of bigotry. What kind of moron thinks it's clever to pick on 15 year olds? If your principal's a conservative then don't bother telling him because they might be friends. If your school reps are all like this guy then tell the Democrat Party. They seem desperate for any advantage these days, and you might even get to be on TV if they're desperate enough! Let him have it.

So, hypothetically are you in 8th grade? Or are you the parent?

Report him for what? Sounds like a typical republican, if you don't agree with them you are, stupid, unpatriotic, hate america etc. He might be an ass, but he has a right to be that way.

Say nothing because you hypothetically asked for a response or reaction from a person you know for a fact was against your view.

Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer, plain and simple.

Hypothetically is right for me to walk up right in front John Kerry's face and say 'Badnarik for President'? or say to George Bush 'Badnarik for President' and not expect a response or reaction in return.

That is the epitome of the short bus

Since hypothetically the eighth grader was the first to start with a silly response it was right and proper well within that person's Freedom of Speech to say whatever in response, just be thankful he did not say worse because I personally would have said much harsher and abrasive words than any man would have uttered to the silly response that initiated it.
