Ohio and Gas Prices

Is this a bug, or am I just crazy?

I have noticed that, seemingly without fail, Ohio's opinion of high gas prices goes from unfavorable to favorable towards the end of the game.  Running an ad against my opponent saying that he supports high gas prices early will hurt him, but help him later on.  The thumbs literally go from down to up.  Is this intended?  It seems to only happen for Ohio.

Nope, you're not crazy. It happens to me almost every time and sometimes in Texas instead of Ohio.

I've been running as a democrat and I always pick up some of the big red states, but towards the end of the game it seems that those suppose to be red states try to find a reason to hate me. One time I actually won their votes back by running a TV ad of "they oppose high gas prices", but its still very hard to win their vote back in the higher difficulty stages.


Is anyone on the dev. team looking into this issue?
