Yay I beat the AI on normal!

Yay I beat the AI on normal!

Yah... I know... for all you guys out there who know how to play the game who are rolling your eyes... this is a big deal for me ok!!  LOL  I'm not very good at these types of games.  So I'm happy that I was able to beat the AI.... it's a first step in getting better at this game.  It was a small map with only 9 planets and 1 AI... but I almost lost and was able to come back and win it.  It felt pretty good.

Thanks for reading.... and I look forward to having my @ss handed to me in multiplayer. LOL

the toughest battle for me was the Battle for the Vasri Homeworld, the advent where my allies and they where about normal agreesors, visari where hard fortifiers and the final battle took forever (like 1 hour) long until i said "FRACK THIS! FIRE THE NOVALITH CANNON" it was funny cuz it looked like he visari where beating the crap out of my allies and me until boom they just died XD

One very important thing when playing against more than 1 ai, give them what they want. My previous normal game against 3 ais, I did not do that and became the most hated person in the system, after an 1 hour of constant firefighting and pinprick the first breakthrough by the enemy was death for my empire. By appeasing some of the ais, you actually divide them.

I agree completely with Yatxhee. If they like you, they will most likely hate each other more. So the time they waste killing each other gives you the time you need to build up your fleet to kick everyones asses. At least, that's how I managed to beat two AI's on the Hard setting.

Take care. :)

Try this:

Make a custom map, 2 Star Systems, You start in 1, opponet in other. 2 Pirate Bases (One in each System)

Pirates ON.

Opponet: Hard (Or normal)

First off, Spend a LOT of cash on bounty for your opponet. Get the threat rating to Critical.

Next, Try to KILL THE PIRATES!! (Take their base for an achievement)

If you can manage to do that, Replenish your forces and by now you can crush the opponet.

I tried 3 opponents on easy, got a feel for the game and restarted. I'm currently playing Random Multi (HUGE) map with everyone on Hard. Each side is allied with each of their own race except for the last 3 players which I call the unholy alliance (Tec, Vasari, Advent). I have to say, it nearly made me crap myself with how it all went down. I captured 2 choke points and I've got each one fortified to the max (all hangars), the worst part was when the Advent and Vasari both decided to lay siege to that choke point, scared me so much because their forces were attacking only me, managed to hold them off (the pirates helped) and right now I'm trying to finish this entire map :P I'm about 15% done.

I'm about to play my first Sins game soon . I'm scared lol.

Heh heh. Hey, at least you knew where to find the Sins discussion forum and you can read the horde of posts in the Strategy forum. Having found the forums alone puts you ahead of a great many people who bought the game.

I agree with CenturionJixra. If you read through some of the strategies on these forums, you'll have an easier time for sure.

And... Good luck.  :NOTSURE:

 1.
When I first started (not all that long ago ) I paused the game A LOT!
 2. So much to learn it seemed and there was.
 3. Locked teams, no pirates...
sorry if that dosent work but i allways have pirats on makes life intresting fight them back or bid them away.

i tried some of the smaller maps but didnt find them intersting so now i play on the huge multi-star randomly generated ones on normal mostly but thinking of moveing to medium/hard.

i find the best way to expand is to take bottlenecks and use them to deffend and i work by a makeing good defence then makeing big strikes to take 3 or so planets which i can defend.
