Applying issue

from Stardock Forums

OS is XP PRO SP2

Hi!

im kinda new to this program and i dont know if im doing the right thing.

I downloaded logon XP version and I installed it. no error here

After installing it i downloaded the logon skin from XP section.

I have problem applying the logon.

I tried loading it from the program zipped/unzipped and by double clicking the logon skin i downloaded.

It loads but after i hit "apply" botton my computer seems like its trying to shut down/restart/log out(icons disappear, and my cursor turns into sandglass and never does anything and im stuck there.................................................................................... so i have to hit the reset button)

I tried different logon skins but its same =P.

NEW ERROR:

i just tried to apply the skin again but this time!
i get error "value creation failed" on line 14 now.
So i tried to apply the skin the program already provides and i get error
"value creation failed" on line 741

that is an interesting situation... my thought is to try reinstalling the program, if that doesn't work... it may be something deeper....

hmmm.... I've heard the program can be buggy, but I've never any issues with it... when it is frozen try pressing the windows key, and the letter "L", this will let you know if it at least applied... maybe the program is locking up trying to log out, to show you that it applied... I'll be back tomorrow to see how things work for you... as of now... I can't think of anything else...

I'm sorry to say but Login Studio hasn't been updated in sometime and still goes unsupported. It might just be a situation of it runs or it doesn’t for you. I wish there was a better answer there but I think the last update for that software was 04 or 05. My apologies for the trouble.

This any use (link line below) ? or perhaps a security setting stopping it ?,maybe cruise over to windows update & download .net2.0 ? ,i have XP Prof SP2 fully updated on a presario S5020AN,it works fine tho some of the logons are some what buggy

error "value creation failed" on line 14 now.


would be a bitmap_100 error - have to be real bitmaps not something just renamed to .bmp


not finding any in mine that even have 700 lines

Nope~ bitmap_100 is .bmp. I even tried chaning it to jpeg and back to bmp and still same error

and I just tried it with my laptop
but this time i get no error but it only locks the computer with no logon skin applied

try opening it in a graphics program then 'saving as' a .bmp then using the saved one, see if that changes anything

Nope its the same
Does the bmp file matter which depth you use?

WOW!!!! PROBLEM SOLVED........

Even though I have English version of XP SP2
If i set the unicode as different language(i did korean)
it doesnt work......
I just tried it with English(united states) and works perfectly......
