Development in Stations w/ Reboot..

Curious Question,

I know there's a new feature with Reboot, where you can pay fee to develop a station, whether it's a Ranger, Pirate, Military, or Scientific Station, however, the question I got is there really a point  to this ?

I mean the only thing I see is the fact that you can add new weapons and such to the station and all, but in doing so, does it actually upgrade their equipment you can buy from that station somehow? Has anyone ever experimented with this option fully?

thanks, !

Hell, I'd appreciate any documentation at all on the new features of Reboot. The Manual that comes with the complete package doesn't appear to address any of the changes.

haven't tried it yet, but at a minimum it might make the station sturdier and thus survive longer if dominators come, which might be important to you if it is in a convenient location.

With mid-late game weapons and 1000s of hit points, it should be possible to make them able to single-handedly repel any dominator attack. This means if you can get the holy grail of systems somewhere in your game (science base, ranger center and one other, preferably military base), it can be kept alive. Having a one stop shop for all your dom-fighting related needs like this is *ultra* convenient!

It's helpful later in the game when your fighting Dominators alot. Most of the Dominator systems are on the left of the map, and by the time your well-equipped enough to start hunting them a fair number of stations that border those regions have been destroyed. It's very convenient to have nearby stations to repair and dump your loot. I usually outfit them with whatever big guns are available they are selling and make sure they have decent shields/repair droids. I will store modules and artifacts on them so you don't want them to blow up before you can come to their rescue.

The lack of decent documentation really hurts this game. I am not a fan of pdf or electronic manuals, as I really don't want to print out a bunch of pages from a printer. I found the best way to get into this game was going to gamefaqs.com and reading the two rated faqs there. They give very good tips for newbies without spoilers.
