I second that (or is it third?) I just paid for 10 tokens last month and have 5 left. I would like to use the leftover to pre-order demigod as well, if I can just buy 1 more token.

What Brad Wardell said on the QuarterToThree forums regarding this issue:

Off the record: What we are looking at is providing customers with a cash coupon option so that you can literally use the tokens to get discounts on all titles.
---
We just started talking on Friday. The challenge is that we have to create a coupon that acts more like one of those coupon cards where the amount left over stays on your card.

That is, if you have say 4 tokens left, it would give you a discount of $40 or something. So if you buy a $20 game, you would want your "token card" to still have $20 left isntead of just disappearing like a normal coupon. That has to be coded.

Aye, when I know more about this, I'll post back and give folks an update.

Yes some sort of coupon or compensation for remaining tokens...we did pay cash for those and thus legally we should be compensated.

Much appreciated. Thank you.

How long should we wait???
They took our money damn fast!!!

I would like stardock, to be a little more expediant on this. I'm thinking about contacting my local news station, they have a segment called problem solvers. They work mostly with retail or product issues.

What issue is there?  You can still spend your tokens on any game available on the TotalGaming.net website and we've added two new ones in the last week or so - which is exactly what you signed up for in the first place.

You're hardly getting screwed and as we've previously stated, we're looking into a way to issue coupons in place of tokens for those who want to go that route - which is pretty generous. This is going to take time to work out because we have to allow for the coupon to act more like a "gift card" and keep track of how much you leave on it so you can spend it later. This isn't trivial to implement.

Yarlen,

You are replying like an employee of Stardock...I hope you are not, your far to confrontaional to be working in customer service.

I bought tokens to be able to purchase the games I want, when I want. I did not buy tokens to settle on games that happen to fit my last 2 tokens because I can't buy more to get the game I want...nor did I buy tokens to be dictated as to when I can use them.

Your quote "we're looking into a way to issue coupons in place of tokens for those who want to go that route - which is pretty generous." I take serious offence to. As the customer its GENEROUS of me to choose to spend my money with who ever I want and I chose your company. I have ran companies before, and I'm shocked that your executive staff did not think there would be an issue with this prior to changing over. A system should have been in place before you cut off tokens.

The one thing you said is true. Quote "This isn't trivial to implement." I don't feel its trivial myself, it needs to be resolved in a timely manor, as it should have been thought of before it became an issue.

The Stardock badge next to my name should say it all. ;)

If you're insulted, then I apologize.  However, in this industry, most companies would have given you no information and no future solutions.  We have outlined what we're looking to do based on the comments people have posted and all we're asking for is time to implement it.

Any news regarding this problem?

Would really like to preorder Demigod, to move finally to Impulse :)

No there seems to be no news, we may very well see the next ice age before Stardock does what they should have done from the very begining "MAKE A PLAN, and ACT ON IT"

I ran a tuxedo company years ago, any time we had to make a profound change to the company we looked 1st at how it would effect the customers. We than came up with solutions to fix the impact to our customers even before the changes went into effect.

This is why I'm so angry with this situation, you can't tell me that no one at Stardock did not think about the impact to customers with left over tokens before they made the change. I can't belive that not one person said "Hey what should we do about the token customers."

Hi gang,

Starting on Monday we will begin selling 1 token boosters to people who need them.  There are a few rules:

  1. You must email [email protected] to arrange this (as the tokens must be manually added to your account).
  2. New tokens will only be sold via Stardock's normal business hours (relates back to the manually adding them to your account).
  3. You must have a valid TotalGaming.net membership already (no new members).
  4. You must have at least 1 token in your account already.  Once you hit zero tokens, you may not purchase more.
  5. You may only use the tokens on products available from the TotalGaming.net website - http://www.totalgaming.net.

Each token will cost $6.99 and you may purchase as many as you need, as often as you need - but you must contact [email protected] each time you want to place a new token order.

This was the fastest solution I could get in place for everyone, though I realize it probably won't satisfy every user's needs. We are still working on the "gift card" system, but I've been informed this will take about a month to complete.

Hello out there!

Just wanted to give you some clarification on this new option we are offering. When emailing [email protected], please let us know what game you intend to purchase with your tokens. You will be credited only the amount that is required to purchase the game. For example, if you currently have 1 token and wish to get Twilight of the Arnor, you will only be able to purchase 2 more tokens to accomplish this. Once your account has zero tokens, we will not authorize the purchase of anymore tokens.

Thanks,
Melissa

Thanks for coming with this to us!

So from what i understand we need to do this: Send e-mail to Stardock. Saying how many tokens we need, and what game we will be buying with it.

How we will pay the tokens we buy? For example i will be buying one token, how i will pay? When ordering the game, will pay for the *extra* token only?

Thaks again.

Hey all,

I've already processed a few orders, and it's working perfectly! If you emailed us over the weekend, I am working through the ticket queue as quickly as I can.

I would prefer that this transaction is taken care of via email; I can answer 5 or more tickets in the amount of time it takes to talk to people on the phone. We have to email you a link anyway, which is tough to give over the phone. The process is easy, you email us, we give you the link, you make your purchase, you email us back, we credit the token. Bam, all set!

Any other takers? Email [email protected] and we'll fix you up.
