Frequent CTDs in Pol machine 08?

Been playing the game for a few hours, except I can't finish a campaign due to frequent CTDs (crash to desktop) It used to crash the my whole pc till I turned all the settings down. I have an Nvidia N 7600 graphics card (256mb video memory) plus 758mbs of ram, plus AMD 2600 CPU. In short the game should not be crashing, is this just a game bug or is it my PC?

Not sure mate, no crashes for me. It sounds like to be just your pc, or a bug affecting only some people.

Sorry you haven't been able to get through a game  (:(  Can you open your 'my games\pm2008\debug.err' file and past the contents here? 

I'd like to see what's going on when it crashes :) Thanks!

At anywho, I haven't had any crashes, and I'm playing on my old-ass laptop. Sounds like it might be hardware specific.

Also make sure that your video card driver is up-to-date. You can do this via NVIDIA's site or use Impulse's Driver page under the Community tab.WWW Link

If you e-mail your DxDiag info as an attachment to [email protected], we should be able to help you further. To do this, go to Start->Run (or Start Search in Vista) and type 'dxdiag'. Once everything loads, please click the "Save all information" button and attach the output file.

I'm having similar issues but I'm not getting a debug.err at all, just the drop to the desk.

Running on Vista Home Premium x32, Gateway MT6828 laptop with Intel 945GM graphics card.  I'm using the latest Intel drivers (after forcing an update of the graphics driver).  The Gateway provided driver or even Microsoft's provided driver don't work at all.

The Gateway provided driver worked perfectly for Galatic Civ 2 but no go for PM2008.

I'd love to get through a game, but so far no go.... I can play a few rounds if I use the 'unsupported' driver (Intel's driver), but eventually it's CTD...

Are you sure?  It doesn't open the file for you when the game crashes.  But everytime you run the game it will overwrite the file located here: 'My Documents\My Games\PolMachine2008\debug.err'
