Zoom to mouse!

This would be far more convenient. Something like the zoom system in Sins. Is this a planned feature for the future?

It is? Is it an option that I have to select to get it to work? Please, I beg of you, tell me how to activate this most wonderful of things.

Assuming you've already downloaded the latest "Alpha" patch, put out this morning (that's v1.92), you just go into your game options, go to the Interface tab, and check the box next to "Zoom to mouse cursor" in the first column.

*me hugs everyone at Stardock*

Looks like the nagging of several players has succeeded. :)

Best feature ever. Shame on you for waiting this long to implement it.

Rhedd_V: put out this morning

Well, that's the important bit, isn't it. ;)

I actually haven't played in a week due to a support issue I'm waiting on. But once I'm back up, I'll know where to look.

umm...what is zoom to mouse?
When you roll your mouse wheel to zoom in, it usually zooms in on the center of the screen.

Zoom to mouse means that it zooms in centered on your cursor, instead.

Once you've played a game where it works this way, you'll wonder how you ever did without it.

Is there a way to get this without having to install the whole 1.92?

No, but why wouldn't you want to install 1.92? It's full of crunchy goodness and is only like, 5mb.

Mmm... Crunchy goodness...

1.92 hasn't been out that long. I usually like to wait for a bit for some feedback first before downloading tweaks. Especially 'unofficial' ones. How its it anyway?

So far?

Extra crunchy!

Granted, I haven't played many games, but my post-patch one is by far the best yet.

There's nothing UN official about this patch, it was released "early" in an unorthodox fashion as a goodwill gesture so to speak. It is a decent patch for sure, fixing some things and adding others. It also addresses the problems some were having with the cost of techs.

The scroll to mouse is worth the price of admission, and in 2 games so far no crashes or odd behavior.

Now, if they could just make it so my start location wasn't so dang crappy all the time...

My bad. I didn't realize it was a Stardock patch.

antracer,Please consider another [darker] color, light green is difficult to see.

I am experimenting with other colors in other posts even as we type... my eyes have a very difficult time with the white on black, but apparently the Dev people see it black on white, or green on white in my case.

Hopefully I will find one that is mutually pleasing so we can all be reading instead of squinting...

I like the dark blue.

If you have an LCD you should make sure you are using a DVI cable instead of a VGA cable.

A high refresh rate (75Hz) can help too.

I have a 24" monitor HDMI input... It's nice enough (for now...) It's my eyes and brain that are the problem, not the hardware. The blue is a little less for me than the green, but it's a fairly happy compromise so I think I'll stick to it for now.

Thanks for the input, BTW. It's been very helpful to me to get the feedback.

You know, I was kind of snarky with you a while ago about the color of your post. (It was bright green, or yellow, or something scary.)

I just assumed that you were one of those people who liked to use cool colors of text to show their uniqueness and superiority, at the expense of fellow forum-goer's eyesight. I was obviously wrong, and you're just looking for a comfortable alternative to a color that you have trouble reading.

My apologies for that.

For the record, the soft blue you used, above, is a good non-eye-burning color. ^_^

Thanks for both of your help in this. I have adjusted pretty well to the blue, and will be using it from now on.
