How do you create more assembly drones???

I have explored nearby planets and found more asteroids to mine but my assembly drones won't travel.  I guess I am supposed to build more near the other planet but I can't figure out how to do it.  They are not a buildable option that I can see.  As a result, I am confined to one planet while the A.I. continues to build up.  WTF?

I have only been playing this game for a couple of hours and I am already so frustrated that I am ready to sell it on Ebay.

Did you play the tutorial?

Send a Colony Ship (Protev (TEC) , Missionary (Advent), or Migrator (Vasari) or an Akkan Battlecruiser (TEC), Progenitor Mothership (Advent) or Jarrassul Evacuator (Vasari) to the new planet and colonize it.

It creates 1 Assembly Drone. If you upgrade infrastructure, it creates more drones.

Play the tutorial.

Construction drones are automatically produced by colonized planets and cannot travel outside of their gravity wells. You need to colonize a planet to build anything in its grav well.

Each colony starts with one drone, but gets more as you research upgrades - the infocards will list when an upgrade will net you an extra drone.

Destroyed drones rebuild after 60 seconds, or 360 seconds if there's fighting around the planet.

Thanks. This game is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Is there an easy difficulty level that I am missing?

Not as such - just differing levels of AI.
You still have to do the same amount of "work" controlling your empire - the difference is how hard the AI works and how much it attacks you etc...
The game does have a steep learning curve - but it is so worth it.
Just don't expect to be winning against a HARD AI anytime soon.
My first game saw me struggle against an easy AI using V1.0.
I was playing against 2 HARD AI last night and I had taken 1 out and was fighting the 2ns using 1.05. The difference is my experience level.
But definately take the time to do the tutorials (I know everyone hates that and wants to jump straight into a real game) and even the manual (which is even more detested by most people).
And these forums have all sorts of nuggets for improving your game style...

I agree with the comment about "play the tutorial". Also, play the single player game for a week or two before moving on to online multiplayer (the real game).

A couple nights ago I had a guy on my team on the large random multistar system in a 4v4 who had almost literally just pulled the game out of the box (a box noob). He said he didn't like single player games and that he was only interested in online multiplayer (an attitude that I commend). Somehow my team won but we did it in spite of him.

Think of SP as training wheel for Sins before you progress to MP :)

remember, only when you beat the AI on unfair can you go online confidently

When I first got the game I did the tutorials and still got owned by a single normal AI (I dont like playing on easy difficulties in any game). It took me about 5 or 6 games before I figured out a good starting strategy and that was just with the TEC. When I switched races it was like playing a whole new game, but with my previous experience I was able to win in about 2 games.

Not trying to say that this is a crazy hard game, it just took some time to figure out And alot of patience.
