Voice Communication

I just found out about information on demi god not that long ago and I am really excited about it now, I love dota so hopfully this one will be as good or better. Anyway I may have missed it but I was looking on the website for ingame voice communication (like counter strike and such) and I saw nothing about it. I think that this feature is a must must must must must must must have. It is really what makes the difference between pub games and clan games on dota. Any game this heavly based can not count on typing because alot of times it take to long to do. So i am realllly hoping they have ingame voice chat or i will be very disapointed.

Well, just suggesting it here makes stardock aware to the request, but it's early days at the minute so we really don't know anything. If not, i know there will be dedicated Vent and/or Teamspeak servers for the game.

Yea that waz part of the reason I posted the comment, and I know there is ts but when you play a game with a bunch of random people then that does not help so much.

The closest info that we have on this so far is from a Gamestar article run through a translator:

We want a voice chat feature and a command menu for the AI allies.

This could mean that they want a voice chat for the players or that they want AI allies to voice notifications. So yeah, nothing concrete yet, but in-game voice chat in a game like this would really fit.

That does sound like it is voice commands that the AI will recognize and act on. IE "RETREAT" or "CHARGE" or something. But voice chat is a little bit of shaky ground, just because it can be abused ex. little kids screaming in Halo. It can also be alot of fun like just talking casually with people online like in Counter Strike so you can coordinate your assualts.

I would like them to implemment this feature but to put a buffer on it so, if necessary, you can turn it off/mute it.

i would definitely agree about adding a voice chat to this game. In a 5v5 game when the shit hits the fan things will get crazy and no one will have time to type out some message without getting killed so voice chat could easily solve that problem and increase team cooperation which is vital in a game like this. the ability to mute an individual player would prevent anyone from being forced to listen to some immature spammer.

I don't think that such a component will be vital, but will sure come in handy.

I can work with a vent server.

As long as I have my mute button.

Seconded, oh so seconded (well, third now :P)
There is nothing more offputting than having a teammate that fills your earphones with high-pitched squealing.. That's exactly why i quit COD4 online for a while..

So you're the basterds who don't hear me saying 'spy pyro behind you' and promptly the entire team is taken out by a spy >.>

Tee hee. I like the option of two voice chat keys: one for allies and one for all. Either that, or a single key + modifier (such as shift). The idea of being able to command allied AI by voice chat is awesome, and if this is the case:

YES PLEASE.

Sounds about right. That would be awesome.
