connection issues

I have done what was suggested for updates in these forumns to allow hosting or joining of games, but still no luck in being able to do either.  any suggestions.  "disconnected from server" is all that pops up.

Your hosting issues can be resolved by following the steps in the guide I wrote Feb 14th/08 "Networking and SINS" and can be found linked-to from the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ" or my stickied thread in the Technical forum.

Alternatively, if you do not wish to be bothered with following the steps in my guide, or you're at a university dorm where you don't have access to altering settings on upstream routers/firewalls; there will be new optional netcode in patch 1.1 which will enable SINS to "tunnel" past offending routers/firewalls and should resolve hosting issues.
