Questions concerning 1.1 beta testing

Is everyone who wants going to be a beta tester?
Is everyone going to be a beta tester?
Is it going to split the mp community if its optional?

A few things that I've been wondering about. I honestly can't wait to see the preview. Yum Yum :)

I doubt they'll be having a "beta" for a patch that so radically changes the netcode for SINS. It's not something that can only half-work! It needs to be "fully-cooked" the moment it is released to the public.

I think most people online will get the beta 1.1 so it wont split the community . Be daft not too lol

In one of other threads I read something to the effect that it will be possible to activate and deactivate the Beta, which I take it to mean that you can play in non-Beta games too even if you have the Beta.

i thought the beta was optional as in open public..
turning on and off may not work but havign a standalone beta install would be better.

That was more what I was thinking. I'm just going from the posts I've read about the subject. Everything I have seen from IC has said optional beta. Really just fishing for a post from them to get the goods.

From memory they said that the new network code was optional - you could still use the old stack or try the new one based on an option.

Is there even any tenative info on when 1.1 might be out? It's been quite a while since 1.4 (which is when they say they started work on it). I was going to wait till 1.5 to try MP, but there was so little changed in that patch, I find I'm now waiting till 1.1.

Well according to several posts from Yarlen, there will indeed be a public beta test of 1.1 just for the net code. ;) I would definitely assume it's optional, however.

I can call you eeets, eeets, but the spanking probably shouldn't be done in public :P
