Question about bonus tiles

Hi everyone...Im a new player, trying to learn to play DA. I got a question about the bonus tiles. i.e ig I got a research bonus of 300% in a certain planet, what is the best choice for placing a building? A simple research lab? or instead Technological capital? Which is the best way to capitalize the bonus? Thanks! Jman.-

Your best lab. Capitals and similar super projects/wonders don't get any benefit from bonus tiles.

Thanks Kryo... Now I know that I was misusing the tiles, I always tried to put the capitals on those tiles.

I've noticed the AI make that mistake as well. ;)

I am pretty sure that the morale bonus from the Political Capital is actually increased by the morale bonus tile. I dont know about the influence bonus from the Political Capital though. Thats not nearly as beneficial for the way that I play.

All the morale bonus buildings give a % boost, so I assume the approval tiles would work for any of them.

Entertainment centers are what you build on morale tiles. (approval = morale)

Morale and influence buildings don't work with points, they have a percentage increase over the points the planet themselves have.
That means that improvement tiles will actually affect these given percentages.
(A political capital built on a morale tile will give a 50*2= 100% morale bonus!)

Research and manufacturing tiles only increase points, not percentages, approval and influence tiles only improve percentages, not points. This seems contradictionary, but then you get used to it...

A quick shortlist:

Morale improvement tile, will it affect...
Political capital morale boos -> yes (but only the morale part of the bonus)
Trade good that gives morale boost -> no
Entertainment center -> yes
Farm -> no, don't be silly (except for charging stalks of course!)

Manufacturing tile, will it affect...
Manufacturing capital -> nope
Manufacturing center -> jawohl
Power plant -> no!
Research center -> gar nicht (that's a no)

Research tile, will it affect...
Research Capital -> nope
Research center -> yep
Research Coordination Center -> nope
Omega Research Center -> nope
Manufacturing center -> nope

Influence tile, will it affect...
Political capital -> yes (but only the influence part of the bonus)
Embassy -> aye
Stock Exchange -> YES (but only the influence part of the bonus)
Galactic influence boosting achievement -> nope!

Food tile,
Farms -> yes
Everything else -> no

That should answer basically all your tile improvement questions

Excellent, thanks. :) What about the "food distribution center", on a food bonus tile? I never build it, but I'm curious.

I doubt it, the food buildings give a straight numerical bonus to food (#mt), the food distribution center gives a %10 bonus. I assume it follows the same rules as the other bonuses.

I've never bothered with the FDC myself, but if I had to guess, I'd say the same as Capn_Danger, foodbuildings normally gived an absolute +x food bonus, so the tiles probably work just like the manufacturing tiles... So the FDC would not get boosted...
This is just educated guessing though, I consider that building so terribly useless that I've never even bothered building it, even for fun...

Jawohl is indeed german for "Yes". I am Dutch myself, perhaps I overestimated the common knowledge of basis German words... Next time I will add the translation just to be sure nobody gets confused. :)
