By now, it should be apparent to anyone paying attention that the American political system is screwed up in a wonderful variety of ways. My favorite flavor of retardation is the charges of "elitism" being leveled against Obama by Hillary Clinton and her right-wing friends. Obama is apparently unelectable because he is a an anti-American, environmentalist wacko, communist, Muslim, terrorist-fellating limousine liberal who wants to make being white illegal and turn the country into the United Soviet Socialist Republics of America.
What? Now, I myself am no fan of Obama, but this is ridiculous at an appaling level. A majority of these slanders come from Hillary Clinton, herself a working-class girl raised in the foothills of West Virginia. When I say "working clas girl" I mean a North Shore snob who went to Wellesley and Yale Law, who is a U.S. Senator with a personal value of 20.7 million dollars.
The right gleefully watches the carnage as the Democrats tear each other to shreds. In fact, by the time the general election comes around, the GOP will have their work cut out for them. Isn't it ironic, though? Anytime some poor, sick, struggling or disadvantaged person calls to the government for help, the conservative crowd tells them to quit whining and get a damn job? How Christian. And when the select few of these poor saps manage to get to some position of power and fight for those who still need help, the right calls them hypocritical liberal elites. Imagine. If this person was a businessman rather than a US Senator or activist, he'd be a model citizen, someone to emulate. But if he dares utter any liberal sentiments (Democrats can barely even be called liberals now-a-days) he is a quiche-eating, condescending elitist.
The hypocrisy from both sides is appaling and quite bizzare. I say we band together, buy a tract of land in Montana and secede from the Union. I'd rather do that than watch this train wreck of a democratic system pick our new overlord.
