Last day for this gem of a replay! 1.05 around the corner.

That's right Ladies and Ladies.  Tomorrow (Hopefully) 1.05 will come out, and our 1.04 replays will not work most likely.  Before this gem is retired, I urge you to take one final look!

It will never stop amazing me why some people have to ruin good games by rushing. Sins of a solar empire is like a good wine... You have to let it breath first

Crashes for me after orange spams scout ships

That's unusual. Had many people view and they had no problem. Sorry you can't watch :)

If I can do that to him in 20 minutes, what would you think the outcome would be in 30? 40? 1 hour? 2 hours? He picked the map, he wanted to fight early. He even says so in the replay.

It will never stop amazing me why some people think a 4 hour game is any better than a 30 minute one.

It will never stop amazing me why some people that only their way is the "correct" way to play a game...

Is rushing the only viable strategy in this game, or is there a way to counter rushes other than simply out-rushing the person rushing you.

My view is that rushing isn't a "strategy". The game starts when it starts and at any given point you have to ask yourself how strong you are compared to your opponent, where are his forces, what is he up to, etc. When one player sends his first - let's say 10 illums - to attack his opponent, by the time this "force" arrives the opponent can build 5 or 6 illums. So the only way a rush can be successful is if one player neglects to build forces and keep his eyes open for a possible attack. In other words playing badly.

So you see rushing is not a strategy - it's just the result of one player thinking he is playing Sims, building nice decorative structures, enjoying the view of the stars, fantasizing about interstellar peace with his opponents, etc.

Very nice post amirabiri. If I invest in military superiority while my opponent invests in economy, unless I use my military superiority, I will lose! Except vs a bad player, where I just do crazy things I dont normally do :)

Negative, not really just my opinion. I just wouldn't call this a gem of a replay. Unless you dig the drama on how a Multiplayer game breaks down and turns nasty (not blaming anyone).
