Planetary Weapons Array (Technical problems)

I'm building a planetary defense system, for Relic (or similar) planets.  I tried Sova missile batteries, because the galaxy setup file lets me put frigates into local militias, and it costs no logistics points, and they can go anywhere in the gravity well, but I will trade them out for Vasari or Advent Beam type defense units (reporgrammed as frigates).

   The above works just fine, but what I want is when you colonize the planet, it group-captures the entire defense network (in one fell swoop).  Can I mark the units as repeatedly capturable if the planet changes hands?

   I would also like the planet to spawn replacements (permanent) for destroyed units.

   Also, can I get the units to form up evenly in a square (or hexagonal) formation?

   Any help would be appreciated...    -and if Danman, Silveressa, or Bailknight, (hint hint) would run with it, that would be excellent too... (although I'll still keep trying on my implementation to get it right)

I think mass-capture by planet colonization can be possible by giving wide area capture buff in planet colonize ability.

I have no idea about respawning and formation right now. If defence platform can be move freely it can be possible that give a passive ability based on FleetBeacon to every defence platform that call themselves trigger by their death.

I`m not sure about this but if you can give them smaller gravitywell exclusively(like vasari`s gravitywell reduce research) It may be help formation around planet when respawning by fleetbeacon ability....or simply make your "Relic" planet have small gravity well like pirate base ;)

Ok, thanks for the input

I tried typing things I "know" are not possible, hoping that it can be done.

If it could be done perfectly, I would have 9 vasari beams (modified) circling the planet in a stargate formation, or a grid of 5x5 with the center on the planet, so that their ranges overlap exactly, and after the attack is over, they slowly re-deploy destroyed units.

Since I made a new frigate based on the Sova missile platform, I can ramp up the range to cover the entire gravity well, without ruining the balance of the game overall.

(I could modify the Sova to do it, but doing it by hand is so tedious :)
Someone said they messed with the velocity of construction units and they just kept circling their destination. I could use that to make an "Orbital Sova Satellite" that poops out defense platforms, in a circular formation that is more evenly spaced than the pirates get...


I'm also trying to redesign local militias to more closely resemble the Lysians from Startrek (conundrum episode), because the local militias could have huge fleets of little ships you can cut through if you have more than one battleship. Unfortunately the game doesn't spawn any planet modules from the galaxy file for the start of the game, unless you remake them into frigates (which works fine)...
