To All of Our Community Members in China

You're in our thoughts & prayers

WinCustomize is home to skinners from around the globe, and as we've realized in recent years, a large part of our community comes from China.  As reports continue to come in about the damages caused by the earthquake in central China we wanted to take a moment today to reach out to all of our affected community members; forum goers and skinners alike.

We'd like you to, when you can, drop us a note on this thread to let everyone know you're OK.  Also, if you've spoken to any other community members who can't get to a PC to post, pass along any news you have of them as well.

To the rest of our community around the globe, please take a moment to send a prayer/some positive thoughts to all of those impacted by the disaster.

You're all in our thoughts here at Stardock.

Thank you thank you sooo much everyone!

We people who live in east china are quite safe now but my god, millions of people of my country in Sichuan Province are now in a situation like hell. The central spot is in mountain area and over 70% traffic system was destroyed in earthquake and some news say there almost no complete building left out there....And plus yesterday there is very bad weather there so our rescue team have to get there on walk. As reported in local media, around 900 people and other stuff have reached there this morning by air to save as many people as they can but oh my god, over 40 hours has passed and specialities told us the common limitaion of survival is 72 hours so plz plz everyone just pray for them...

And outside the central spot, there is no anything fortune, schools in worst place, eathquake happened around 2PM so tens of thousands of children are in the ruins after that. Survivals and the amry immediately started to take actions but there are still so many many people are suffering there. Our government is now doing their best but this earthquake is just too heavy....GOD or whatever plz bless our country and our people.....

Now perhaps, just maybe, China will get the hell out of Tibet and leave the Tibetans in peace and just maybe leave all the other smaller countries alone that they have tried to control with force over the past few decades! I have very little pity for them! What goes around - comes around!

MickyG at best you are naive,at worst you are callous.
You can't hold the people of China responsible for their government's foreign policy seeing as it isn't a government elected by the people themselves.
I too think the Chinese government's stance on Tibet is extremely questionable but this is certainly not the thread to discuss this nor is it right to condemn innocent Chinese citizens because of it.
By all means start a discussion thread on the Tibet issue but please, not here in this thread.

I'm going to leave Micky-G's post as it is, without a single edit.  Why?  Because it shows us something about who Micky is that otherwise we wouldn't have seen.

To use a tragedy like this to push your own personal politics just isn't right.  The people affected by this disaster, the children, the regular citizens in central China, have nothing to do with the geopolitical situation.  It would be the same as someone celebrating your house burning down as some sort of divine karma for the acts of the British government.

This thread is about the members of our community who are suffering, or know those who are suffering, as a result of this massive disaster.  People we in some part know through their forum posts, skins, icons and other artwork that they've shared with us here over the years.

Show some respect.

You know, there are quite a few skinners on here from China. The people of China do not = the government of China, and lord knows that no government is perfect.

Have some freakin' compassion for the lives lost and the country living in hell.  It doesn't matter where this happened, it's a pure and utter tragedy.

I have very little pity for them!

And I have very little pity for you when everyone comes on here and calls you an asshat.

To JJ Ying and the rest of you from China (or who have ties to China), please know that your country is in the thoughts of us here at Stardock.  I hope that none of you experience personal loss with the tragedy.   know that the US is doing what they can, but when hours count, there isn't much that we can do other than to pray to whatever deity we believe in.

    *ahem* AssHat.

My sympathies and prayers to anyone that might have experienced loss in this horrible disaster. I hope the Chinese government launches a great deal of aid to assist you. There is already a public outcry going on from other countries to assist the cradle of the Olympics and it's people on several different sites. While that might not be the best motivation I certainly hope that is generates even more national aid to you and yours. I will be contributing through the Red Cross again this year to help. I would encourage others to do so as well.

Please be as safe as can be.

The country's full of wonderful people... so my prayers are with you!! (and... for those political numb-nuts, just like the U.S., the govt and their people are TWO different entities)
