How can I recover a drag drop dvd that is damaged? FREE

System taken down by trojans had to reinstall windows vista

   Okay so I had to reinstall my os. Many many trojans took my pc over and where changing my files into trojan downloaders. I could only find 8 trojans. there where more that couldnt be found and where creating huge problems and controlling my pc... ect.

 

I backed up my skin that was so close to being done by the way on a dvd. By way of format(through vista) and drag and drop. I backed up many other files as well. Two dvds worth. I checked them both before i deleted my parameter and reinstalled vista. Many times. They worked. I got everything back up and runnning. One dvd worked....THE ONE WITHOUT MY 500 images that I spent so much time makeing!

The files are readable by isobuster and cd roller both 30-40 bucks cant afford them! anyone have any ideas. Freeware...... I think what Happened is I was too impatent and I double clicked the drive before the cd could be read and it started to format the disc. The drive shows that the dvd is full but when explored... NOTHING! HELP please.

So frustrating...

I've used this program before, and it has worked pretty well. However I can't guarantee/promise it will work for you.

No harm in trying it though. The site says it works on Vista ....I have it on an XP machine.

...if it doesn't work, just uninstall it.

i would also suggest you install a security suite like zone alarm or something.......if you dont, if you do aleady have one, i suggest changing it, since it dosent seem to be working......... :NOTSURE: 

im just glad my pc wasnt infected when you sent me yr wb...... *phew*

CD recovery toolbox doesnt even recognise that anything is in the drive. I am buying security software this weekend. Zone alarm fire wall doesnt work on my pc nor does mcafee. they completely block the internet. I use AVG free edition. I havnt had problems before. And kitty I know exactly when It happened. It was from a flash drive. I know for shure it hit very hard and very quick! I have never had a virus problem like that before. I didnt know that it could be that bad. I am sorry for putting your work in danger. I am devistated.

Use Komodo and Spybot, they're free and ultra-high power.

Are you sure the disk burned correctly?

RobJK ....it's a simple decision....on one hand you have 500 image files you cannot access....on the other you have $30 or so to get a proggy that will access them for you.

It's a no-brainer...depending on whether those images are worth $30.

Since you are so in a pickle about it all...I'd say the answer is yes....;)

Yeah true jafo you are so to the point and motivating....But i decided that that skin didint work anyways kitty tested it. It will just be a rough draft. I will just do it again? I want to get a subscription here with my next money! So yeah thanks for the advice but I already started it. I have accepted it and moved on. Sort of... LOL sucks but its not like I made anything major. Just basic images.
