Really Bummed

I spoke with my mother on the phone a bit ago. I can tell she's worried  about her surgery tomorrow although she's trying hard to not let it show. Same thing I would do. She gave me the phone number for the hospital and we talked a bit. I can tell.

I make a point of staying positive when talking to her but I suspect she can tell I am worried.

I know there's nothing that I can do that will affect the surgery one way or the other but I still wish I could be there.

Not being there for her is killing me.

I've been thinking about her and meant to ask how she was doing. I know it's not easy being away from her right now. She's in my thoughts! Next time you talk to her let her know I'm thinking about her and hope everything goes well!

Thanks. As they're removing her voice box I won't actually get to speak to her. I'll be seeing her as soon as I make it home, probably Tuesday. Her husband is supposed to call me later today to let me know how she's doing and how the surgery went.

Is there any way to get your mom set up with a laptop and internet connection so you can chat with her online? Keep us posted with how she's doing. Good thoughts and prayers for both of you.


Thanks, yes as soon as I can afford it I plan to get her a computer so we can communicate when I am on the road.
