Can you post a screenshot of the problem please.

Also what skins are you using?

There is a link to the screenshot in the "link", I am using the Vexa Black skin ( although it does it on other skins as well).

Also when it happens i cannot change the skin using the WB Config screen. I am posting this after rebooting my PC, and the black bar has gone, If it re-appears i'll let you know. ;)

thank you

That sounds very similar to problems that I am having. Intermittently, the tops of windows will disappear and I am unable to change skins. I am also having files created on my desktop with names such as _PersonalityHorz2. I have a ticket in with support on this and if I hear anything, I will let you know.

That's a super-tiny screenshot.  Bigger is better.

Not the newest drivers actually, nVidia is not fond of getting their drivers digitally signed from Microsoft. Therefor they usually release drivers classified as "beta" most of the time, I'd say they release drivers digitally signed once every two months. Try giving these a whirl: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_175.16_beta.html

Also, do you have SP1 installed?

Thanks for the Info...I'm not a big fan of using "Beta" drivers :) and yes i SP1 installed, I'll give the 175.16 driver a go though.

It was escalated to the developers earlier this week, so I am not sure when I will hear something. When I do though, I will post here and let you know if anything has been figured out.

Hang on . . . you had the full . . and then installed the trial?  I don't get it.
Does the trial work completely?

There is no key to make the trial full.  It's a separate set of files.

Here is what I see when the error occurs (using Notepad as an example): WWW Link

I still have the full ver of WB, i was just seeing if the trial ver was any better (it isn't) So i have removed WB6 altogether and i am just using Vista Aero at the moment.

I have also noticed that WB6 doesn't put the uninstaller in "add and Remove" and i had to use the SDC to uninstall.

That's by design.  Install from SDC . .uninstall the same.

Just an update: recieved an e-mail 2 days ago saying that the problem has been forwarded to the development team, wonder how long this is going to take, I'm a bit peeved at not being able to use it.

as this looks similar to my problem, I'll just reply in here rather than start a new post. I'm getting a grey line with my Firefox address bar. My folders all have the menu bars at the top cut off, meaning that you need to go to the taskbar and right click to close them. Some aspects of the skin are working though as fonts are similar in certain programs, although Firefox has resorted to the default

My Windowblinds program does work on occasions though, but it seems to be random when I reboot the computer on whether it will work, or whether I'll have the grey bar/menus cut. Obviously I could just install the thing again, but with the possibility of using up my activations again (had to ask for it to be reset on here last week) it's not really worth it.

Would I be better getting a ticket started with the development people, or does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

WWW Link is a link to the image of what WB has done to the taskbar

Config info:

Wbload.dll 2008/04/26 16:14:28
Screen.exe 2008/04/26 16:14:18

if anyone can help, then I'll be grateful but I think this could be a nagging problem which might need the developmental help.

There seems to be a common thread here. All of you are using NVIDA GeForce graphics cards. Do you have nview enabled? This often causes a colflict with WB.
I notice that the program is generating "personality" files as well, so I deleted them and my WB is rendering normally again. However I expect this will only be a short-term fix. So I contacted Stardock on their contact form and we'll see what happens

on the "nview" idea - I have no idea to see if that is running or not. In my startup using msconfig, I have NVIDIA Driver Helper Service, NVIDIA Compatible Windows 2000 Display Driver and NVIDIA Media Centre Library all ticked to start up when the computer reboots - are any of them "nview?" or is that in the NVIDIA control panel?

O.K. I think the problem is definatley something to do with My NVidia drivers. As a test i uninstalled my NVidia drivers and re-booted and let Vista install its own Nvidia WDDM driver.

I re-downloaded WB6 with SDC, and now WB6 seems to be working again, I have had it running for a week so far, and not a problem (fingers X).

I would like to be able to use the updated Drivers though (:(
