Here's the beginning of the LAT's analysis of the second presidential debate.
WASHINGTON — In President Bush's aggressive attack on Sen. John F. Kerry's 20-year Senate record during their debate Friday, the facts may have taken the worst beating of all.
If you read the analysis, you'll see that while Kerry gets knocked on some stuff, Bush appears to have been much less honest.

Here's the Slate summary of the analysis:
[W]hile that headline emphasizes both the candidates' inaccuracies, the actual story outlines twice as many falsehoods committed by Bush. And while Kerry's distortions were more in the neighborhood of misestimates ("some analysts say he is underestimating the cost of his healthcare plan"), more of Bush's inaccuracies fell into the category of just plain wrong (Bush saying the Duelfer report said U.N. weapons inspections in Iraq weren't working, when in fact the report said years of inspections worked extremely well).
Mr. President, you can run, but you can't hide.

Yeah, but it would have been better if we couldn't point to any Kerry inaccuracies -- or at least only minor ones. The Senator was midleading several times -- so what if Bush did it more? I hate that debates have become (in part) about who lied LESS.

This section right here relieves any doubt I had. It's just like I rememberthe LA Times is NO better than the San Diego Tribune! Bunch of left-wing liberals


The 1,000-plus page report issued Wednesday by Charles A. Duelfer, head of the CIA Iraq Survey Group, suggested that years of intrusive U.N. weapons inspections and strict U.N. trade and arms embargoes worked extremely well at disarming Iraq.

Really... in scoring the debate it comes down to who told the lies that people wanted to hear. Guess what. I'm Sandy2. I am going to lower taxes for the middle class by 90%. (The truth is its going to be 90% for those people who are single, live in a box, don't own a car, and have 15 or more children, but shhh).

I think it's understandable that some misstatements are made. But I believe that deliberately lying is a different thing.
