Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor has been released!

Stardock is pleased to announce the general availability of the second (and final) expansion pack to Galactic Civilizations II.  The new expansion pack, Twilight of the Arnor, adds hundreds of new features, gives each civilization a unique technology tree, a unique set of planetary improvements, star base modules, ship parts, and more.

Moreover, with Twilight of the Arnor, Stardock went back and revamped the graphics for the game to bring them up to the state of the art.  A new sound track has also been added along with updates to the computer AI.  It also reintroduces the Terror Star, the ultimate weapon last seen in the original Galactic Civilizations as well as a new victory condition called Ascension. Online tournaments have also been added to allow people to compete at playing the same map and scenario and submit their scores to the GalCiv metaverse.

The expansion also includes the conclusion to the Dread Lords saga in the form of the Twilight of the Arnor campaign.

And finally, to keep the game evolving for years to come, Stardock includes a half dozen newly developed editors that will help modders and end users alike such as a map editor, scenario editor, campaign editor, tech editor, ship component editor, and much more.

The expansion pack is $29.95.  It requires the previous expansion (Dark Avatar) to also be installed. New players can purchase the integrated "Ultimate Bundle" for $59.95 and get the entire Galactic Civilizations II saga.

You have to activate the product first. Open Stardock Central and click on "Tool" and here on "Register Product". You should have an E-Mail with the Serial, it is send short after you have persuaded it.

Enter the Serial now and restart SC. Now you should be able to see the game for download in the games menu, have fun.

Thanks Diviator, but I have registered it.
I even uninstaled Stardock Central and reinstalled it again.
It still will not show.
I have emailed support and am waiting for a reply.

No box? :SNIFF!:

That's disappointing. Slightly. Not really a big issue when compared to the game itself, but... I like boxes. Oh well.

I'm starting to get pissed here..... does Stardock EVER answer their phone? Or look at their voicemail?

I simply want to talk to someone in Sales about ToA.

Wth do I have to do to get some service? You don't offer the product in the bloody store (I'd already have it by now), and you don't answer your PHONE... how do I acquire this game?

I AM NOT DLING the bloody thing, so DO NOT mention that BS to me!

It should NOT be this hard to buy a bloody game,

:CONGRAT: David in Technical support ROCKS!!! Love that guy!

I'm assuming that Stardock is saving money in the "sales dptmt" which I can understand - they probably assume most people want to simply order online.

I'm used to talking to people though.

That is the nicest guy in the world I tell you what...

Well shizucks.... looks like I can't install ToA with my version of DA being 1.5... and since my machine isn't online... I can't update.

Gonna have to wait until I get net before I can check this work of art out.  :SNIFF!:

At least I know what the deal is now... and knowing is half the battle.

Regarding preordering the expansion and not getting a boxed version, as a reasonable consumer, I wasn't expecting Stardock to do this differently than the last expansion. As a general rule with games/expansions, it is always more satisfying to wait until the "GOTY" or final metal version of the game is released with all updates, all expansions, and maybe some bonus material. Usually I wait, but did not for this game. The only reward one gets from buying at release or preorder is to have the game early, but you get jipped out of the "extras" that publishers use to tap remaining market after release. I am fine with this as I understood it would happen.

Is there any other advantage to us loyal early customers who give money right away other than early play, vs. those who delay satisfaction and get all the nice final cut box version? I'm trying to feel better about my choice ;-)

I'd just like to know if the darn thing is ever going to ship. I can't download as I have a very slow speed and am tired of the "next week" answer. I know I'll never pre-order anything again.

The discs began shipping last week; some people have already recieved them.

Good. Even though I have a great internet connection I always like to have the discs. Now I just need to figure out if I took the time to order the discs when I preordered . . . cause I can't go back to before ToA now. It ruined me. ;)

I purchased Arnor back in December of last year) and paid for the CD, thinking I was getting a boxed copy eventually. I also paid for the DVD of SOASE and actually did get a boxed copy.

So I'm only getting a cd in a sleeve for Arnor?
