We must demand that the Arabs produce more oil!

Yes, say the democrats that we saved them, when Saddam insane threatened them, at great expense and they should repay us with more production to bring the price of oil down. The president must do something or else!

Reality check, the democrats have spent the last 7 years alienating our Arab friends and weakening us in there eyes as they went on a rampage attacking the president and his policies. These nations respect strength and our president is the United States, weaken him and you weaken the nation. Now that the man has been weakened they demand that the man go to these nations and demand something from them.

Democrats have made it clear that the president has no power and no support from the democrat run congress, so what does the president have to get theses people to hurt their own interest? We bailed out France twice world wars 1 & 2 and they kicked us in the teeth for 40 years, and the democrats applauded when there was a republican president and blamed the republicans when a democrat was president. The example given is that no matter how harshly we are treated we will still help you and let you get away with your open hate of .

For the last five years the president has made trips to build friendships and get nations to help us out and the democrats attacked those trips to make him look bad at home and abroad. After destroying every attempt to build friendship they now want us to demand from those nations help. That is not the act of a friend.

More oil will do no good without more refineries.

Not so much the liberals on this one, I give credit where discredit is due. The democrats are doing this for political gain not ideology, I can respect the misguided ideologist but this political campaign has been solely to destroy a political opponent without regard for the damage it will do to the nation.

Yes, without them the price of gas will continue to go up. Where are the environmentalists on this? They have been screaming for years that we need gas at 8 dollars a gallon to restrict excess driving in order to save the planet. They should be happy now that the price of gas is so high.

They are celebrating, and the honest ones I can respect for this. True Environmentalist want the price of oil to go so high, that we have to cut back because we cannot afford it. There are a few honest ones like that around. Most just pay lip service to the cause, and when the goals of the environmentalist are being realized, they cry about how the poor and minorities (a very biggoted attitude that the MSM never calls them out on) are hardest hit.

I'm not a die-hard environmentalist by any means. I hate the price of gas like most others, but as a realist I think the only way to move forward is to make it painful at the pump, not what most people want to hear. Even if prices go down it's only temporary. I'm really sick about giving these OPEC nations a profit windfall, most don't even like us and I'll bet a scary amount of the profit money funds our enemies, I hope I see the day when they can choke on their oil.

We should just nuke the whole area and then drill it ourselves.

But a very honest and open answer. And the correct one. Nothing is going to happen until it does become painful. And we cannot choose the ones it will be painful to. It will be everyone.

When I was a kid I (in the 60's) I thought we'd all be flying around in electro-magnetic cars by now anyway, what a bummer. Americans do their best when the going gets tough, we just need to get back to that.

Well said. I disagree to some small extent but your argument was well laid out, thank you for that.
