Gloriously Not Alone

Two years today

now

we hold hands at the crosswalk

to the library, we lace fingers and laugh

about stupid question girls and no-name

douche-bags

her presence dispels the loneliness

and brings light like dawn over misty mornings

then

I lived in a different world,

before her

I wanted something we all need

(I knew not that I needed it)

our hands together

are a blessing, an uplifting

a cure for the cold and the storm

I am alone no longer

two whole years spent gloriously

not alone

This is dedicated to Ashley. She is my love, my saving grace, my dreamer's spirit.

Wow, this is truly beautiful. I feel exactly the same way about my wife and we've been together now for over six years. I hope to feel the same way in sixty years.

Ashley is a lucky lady :)

Very nice, Al.

Ashley is a lucky lady

That she is, that she is. :)

Oh...and you stole my latest poem title:
misty mornings

...but I'll let it slide. ;)

Thank you for the kind words. It has been quite a long time since I've done any substantial writing.

As to lucky, I think I'm the lucky one.
