Ok, in response to another article, here is my platform if I were running for President of The United States of America.

Education- A college education should not be denied to anyone because they can't afford it, and therefore would propose a interest free loan to be provided to anyone with at least a 3.0 by the United States Government, to be collected by the IRS, and to be given directly to the public school of their choice as to prevent fraud.

Military- The United States military should be used solely for self defense and International Peace Keeping missions approved and sanctioned by the UN, or on NATO approved defense missions. There are special exceptions, such as the protection of Japan or our territories.

Foreign Policy- One of the key factors involved in the instability of the Middle East and its impact on the United States (through Terrorism or defense threats) is the United States dependence on oil from the region, and our presence in the region. To solve this problem, no reasonable expense will be spared in reducing and moving towards the elimination on our dependence on foreign oil from the Middle East and Africa.

Environmental Policy- Global Warming exists, and all reasonable expense will be shared by the United States in an international cooperation to eliminate and reverse global warming. Further, environmental concerns are existent, and every effort will be taken to reduce them.

Nuclear Proliferation- The United States will move to the forefront of reducing Nuclear Proliferation, and we will crack down and fund the removal of Nuclear arsenal from rogue areas in Russia. We will also crack down on countries such as North Korea and Iran with world sanctions on trade or travel to these countries. If this does not work, we will do whatever necessary to ensure the safety of the United States.

Deficit and Debt- The deficit and debt are a hindrance to our economy, and as such will be taken as a priority in the domestic policy. Legislation will be passed preventing deficits except in times of war in which a draft has been instituted. Unacceptable spending practices within the government, including the use of federal tax dollars for local projects. A temporary 3% sales and service tax will be instituted to take be used to pay off the debt. The government will set up interest free money accounts for individuals willing to transfer funds into them, and the federal government will waive income taxes on money transferred into them and out of them. Accounts with a minimum of $1 million will be locked for 3 years, accounts with less than $1 million will be locked for 10 years. I can provide more details for anyone who is interested. A 1% wealth tax will be instituted, which will also be waived to those in the interest free money market accounts.

Iraq- Now that we have entered Iraq in haste, thanks to George W. Bush, we must take care of the situation. To do this, we will bring an international coalition, and a real one this time, to the table. Further, we will bring in the required US troops by relocating troops from around the world and asking our allies for assistance in other areas if they are not willing to join Iraq. Further, we will increase incentives to join the Military, including pay hikes for new recruits. A draft will not be instituted.

Taxes- Taxes will not be raised for the middle class.

Sounds good to me.  I'd vote for you if you were running.

However:  I think that to be successful, you'll have to pigheadedly support an indefensible position.  That'll show that you're unwavering amidst fierce opposition.  We like that kind of "leadership" here.

That's one reason why everyone loves Americans abroad.  We know what is right, and everyone gets to hear about it (they even have a chance of understanding if they can comprehend English.)

Ya know Sandy, you did REAL good except for 2 points. Enviornmental policy and Iraq. They ONLY way we're going to do something about the enviornment is to get RID of the internal combustion engine (which ain't going to happen any time soon.). Iraq: You will NOT be able to form a truly international coalition without France and Germany. Which won't happen in EITHER of our lifetimes.

What exactly do you mean by the bolded section of your statement?

Ok so @ times a draft will be possibly but only when you feel it is necessary for some G~d forsaking reason?

And relocation of the US troops hmmm so where ever they are currently stationed even those in N.Korea should just forget about those missions "for now" and head on over to Iraq?

Lol.. sorry thats not what I meant by posting it here. I meant that it was long and some people not care what I think, as I believe that are a lot of those on joeuser, and also I wanted to get my little vote ad in there and some people don't like that either. I forgot to link to you... sorry Insightfull for the topic though, so I will go back and give you those due points. I would like to hear what your platform would be too.

Well.. the other thing for environment is to do what is needed to reduce our dependence on oil.. period. Spend the money to develop hybrid, raise fuel economy standards, and invest in technology involving solar energy generated out in space and beamed to the earth by other means. This looks promising.

A draft is absolutley acceptable if it is needed (i.e. for example if china declared war on us and attacked us in our homeland). I would willingly go if drafted into that.

No. But france and our other allies should be willing to help us in these locations if they are not willing to help us in Iraq. We can also if. nesc. pay other countries to take over for us in these areas.

This means that if attacked we will attack back. It also means that if everything else fails, we will take military action if you are a serious, undisputed threat to us.

What I also forgot to mention regarding budget- revise the tax code to get rid of the loopholes and the 44,000 pages that no one has ever read. Also, do a full audit of the government and find out the value of government assets.

Ok. The money account plans work like this:
Say I am Joe User, and I have a 20 million dollar income. I can transfer 10 million dollars to a government money account, where it will sit not earning intrest. To reward me for doing this, the 10 million dollars will not be considered taxable income. I would therefore have "evaded" 3.5 million dollars in taxes. The reason you would set up this is because the government would then be able to secure loans without interest. Say 1 trillion dollars was put into accounts such as these in one year. We coulld then take the 1 trillion dollars and pay off our current debt, saving 40 billion dollars a year in interest.
