Yes! Yes! Yes!
One year ago today, I proposed to my wife. So, in a nostalgic moment a year later, I'd like to retell our story that I wrote one year ago...
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" is what the love of my life said when I asked her to marry me.
Why B&N?
I recreated our first date together. On our first date, I had 4 cards waiting for Tenille. The first card had a #4 on the outside, and on the inside, I told her she had 15 minutes in B&N to find 3 books which we'd share over 1 cup of coffee (3+1="4"). We spent the most incredible 2 hours of conversation together there in B&N. The second card had a #3 on the outside, and on the inside, I told her she had 10 minutes at the Dollar Tree to find "3" items (2 items to describe her and 1 item she wanted to know about me). We spent another amazing hour together talking about our items. The third card had a #2 on the outside, and on the inside, I told her she had 10 minutes at the Family Christian Bookstore to find "2" items (1 item that represented something about her and 1 Bible verse). The fourth card had a #1 on the outside, and on the inside, I told her we'd create "1" ceramic at Practically Picasso to represent our first date together.
IT WAS THE MOST INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING DATE EVER!
So...to propose, (after sharing a dinner at the Olive Garden, the place where we met to begin our first date), I had four cards. The first card had a #1 on the outside, and I told her I wanted to take her to "1" more place...the place where it all began (B&N). The second card had a #2 on the outside, and on the inside, I told her that this was where "2" people began to share with one another with "2" hearts becoming one. Card #3 was in the fiction section by the Nicholas Sparks' books, and on the inside, I told her that our own love story is better than any Nicholas Sparks could write, and I offered these "3" words…I love you. The fourth card had a #4 on the outside, and on in the inside, I wrote the Bible verse from Genesis 2: 24: "4" this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh...at which point, I knelt and asked, "Tenille, will you marry me?"
And so begins the next chapter in our amazing love story...
...I am proud to say a year later that I am living in a blissful state that I didn't know was possible. And I know I now know what it is like to be truly loved. I long to continue to know this love forevermore with the one whom I have no doubt was placed in my path so that I would know that true love exists.
