Hyperdesk

Hyperdesk

by The Skins Factory

http://www.hyperdesk.com/

So with Hyperdesk just around the corner, is this finally some competition for WindowBlinds?  How well will TSF and Stardock play together?  I know TSF used to contribute here, but they don't show up much anymore, at least with content.  I'm anxiously awaiting the release and can't wait to see DarkMatter.  Hurry up Jeff. ;)

What are your thoughts?

*UPDATE:  Hyperdesk is live.  Go check it out and leave your constructive  comments about it here.  (Notice I didn't say "only leave your good comments or bash it".  Constructive comments can be positive or negative but should be supported with facts.)

#1 Zips are easy to pirate #2 Branding is lost with zips.

If someone wants to pirate it they will find a way...I don't know anything about pirating. ;p

And branding sux. Usually if I get a skin that's branded in some way I edit it out...I prefer a clean looking skin myself. And I know where it came from...so no branding needed. ;)

And yeah...a zip file would be much easier. ;)

From a marketing standpoint (of hyperdesk and TSF, not the skin) branding is a good thing. And if the user wants to edit it out . . great; I do it too.  If i were selling a product though, I'd want the user and anyone the user is show the product off to to see my brand name, not my competitors.

As an aside . . it's not a week tha goes by that someone is confused by unzipping something in these forums.  An installer can be much easier for Mr. and Mrs. AOL.  :)
