Differing views

As I've said elsewhere, I think Kerry edged out Bush in this debate.  But from reading views around the net and watching the pundits, it seems I am in the minority.

But here's a difference: I was driving home from a friend's for most of the debate so I heard the debate on the radio and that was where I felt Kerry was beating Bush. I only saw the last part at home on TV and that I will say that Bush seemed to be doing a bit better.

So I wonder if body language and other elements that aren't present when you're listening on the radio favored Bush.

Either way, who do you think won?

"First, he thinks he was appointed by God to be where he is now. Wrong, if he was he would not know this is clearly a shot to the Christian voters."

This just in, D.F. knows what God thinks. He's available for REvival's and Bar Mitzvahs... You realize, of course, that saying someone WASN'T chosen by God is stepping as low if not lower than the person who originally made the statement.

If you want to talk about our legal situation with China, best to go back a few years before Bush, when Clinton was bribing them with everything that wasn't bolted down.

might thinks of us

OMG!!... I accidentally put an s at the end of a word! Oh, the shame! I may have to move to a shack in rural Montana (whoops, guess that's redundant) to spare myself the approbation of my peers. Oh, woe is me! Please, don't let Terry McAwful see this!! I'm beggin you!

If it's really a tie it is that old underdog echo that lifts Bush.

I was giving Kerry the benefit of the doubt, Steve - Washington Post tracking poll has it 51% Bush to 48% Kerry, but you can't call that anything but a dead heat. Interesting you consider Bush the underdog, given he had an 8-11 point poll lead just 2 weeks ago and has managed to weather his horrible performance in Debate #1 pretty well. I could be wrong, but I think that shows that style won't trump substance this time around. Unless Bush makes a collossal blunder of some kind in Debate #4, I think his lead will hold up. His performance in Debate #3 suggests that a major faux pas is unlikely.
