preview looks okay, but it doesnt work when its applied

like the title says, i've made a login screen, nothing too fancy, and its not working.

it looks the way i want it to when its in the preview window, but when its actually applied, the background moves up, the box for selecting your account and entering your password isnt there, and the text i entered in two of the sections goes all weird in different spots.

can anyone help me? i really dont know how to fix this >_>

man, I really gotta learn to read stuff before I play...


when I opened it in edit mode...

user account panel width was set to 0% = 0% width is really really really hard to see... try at least 25%


the background moves up,



top panel height was set to zero with no pic.


try this (I did since I'm using 1024x768)

open in graphics (I used PSP8) and crop the top part of the center pic down to the edge of the top grey line (save that as topPanel.bmp)

crop the bottom part up to the grey line (save a bottomPanel.bmp)

keep the middle as centerPanel.bmp


edit your center pic to the new cropped center pic
Style 1 - fixed
width = 1024
height = 594

edit top panel to use the new top panel
style 6 - stretched
height 87

edit bottom panel to use the new bottom panel
style 6
height 87 *this will put his legs back


fonts were off for me, don't have that one installed *I set the Caption font to 10 (Chiller) since it showed up at 14

I also had to bring the user account font down to 10-11

that top part is killing me, can't get it lined up no matter what

on suggestion... if you use the top panel above make the text part of the bmp then you don't have to worry about it


or insert the text onto the pic prior to cropping

oops, wait.
one minor issue, the username doesnt use the font i've assigned to it.
i've tried changing to different fonts, but it seems to be stuck on either arial or times new roman (i could never tell those apart >_>).

any idea how to fix this?

scratch that, i fixed it by changing a value in the theme.ini file.

i have problems with my logon,
i'v created a picture with a black color background,
and in front of it a character with simple yellow,and red collors,
i saved that as a bitmapfile,in previeuw it look just fine,
but when i apply it,then all the black color turned in a white one,
how can i fix this???
