"Space Ponies" Achievement??

I'd say what the achievement REALLY is about, but then 5min pony guides would come up, and defeat the purpose behind achieving it.

All I will say, is look EVERYWHERE!

It's from the beta. It is an inside joke known only to the few. Sort of like the Freemasons of nerdom.

Its a planetary achievement. You might have to play 10-15 single player games to find it.

LoL Every SpacePony Forum is answered by comments like:"Look everywhere" and "You have to be a really good player to find it".

By now, I've played at least 40 single player games "searching" everywhere, and have yet to find it. Just my luck, eh?

Found it my first game, 4th planet I explored.


[EDIT] - It was on a small random map with an easy enemy. Don't know if that had anything to do with it. Maybe its just random good luck.

You have to colonize one billion, seven hundred million, forty two thousand and five planets before reaching a .000001% chance of finding space ponies. Honestly, it's the only achievement I haven't made. It's been the only one for quite a long while now.

same here, ive been playing single player games almost every day since the game came out and its still my last achievement. I play alot of custom made games from galaxy forge, i have to wonder if that effects it. I would like to know what maps people have found theirs on.

I got this achievement on the 5th game I played. I explored a planet and got it, and was like WTF? It's completely useless, unless you're after achievements. Oh, and for the record, I think it was a small custom map I found it on.

I've given up looking for them. I suppose it is a planetary bonus of some type. I've read that there is a good chance that they are on pirate bases. I've never found them.

i had it listed on a planet info screen once but I never saw anything else about it. Also, it still says that I lack the achievement. Oh well.

i just hacked the achievements file. so i don't know. i tried exploring priate bases, like aformentioned, but i never found it. i even made a custom map with 9 undefended pirate bases, and none had the ponies. so i got tired and just edited the achievements file for it, and all the other achievements. i didn't get any secret mod, nor did i get an explaination of the ponies achievement. take my advice, and give up the search. leave the ponies alone, and let them be free.   

does this have something to do with richard simmions? i know hes behind this somehow.

Last night I played Tempest medium scenario and found Space Ponies on an icy planed. My guess is its found by chance.

Before i read this post i never heard of achievements Apparently i found a space pony without noticing

Its an old joke from way back in the beta. I doubt most of the beta people even remember its genesis, at this point. It simply... was.

Space Ponies are both the question AND the answer.  Like a mobeus strip with no beginning and no end.  They simply ARE.

I actually found it a few random games after I started playing, but I have no idea what it means. I wasn't in the beta, and this forum is pretty much useless as far as finding information on space ponies goes. I suppose it's best not to ask too many questions.

There should be a graphic that goes with space ponies... perhaps have them fly around the planet?
