I've tried the demos to lightweight ninja and morning's wrath...  Kinda wondering if these games get good once the demo finishes.

I know Alpha Prime gets very good in the later levels.

Etherlords and Etherlords II I liked a lot.  Etherlords has more RPG elements than the sequel (which is more of a straight strategy game). 

Lightweight Ninja - the demo pretty much says it all. If you like that, you'll like the full game - it's only $5 though. :P

Morning's Wrath - I never finished this, but I've heard good things.  If you didn't like the demo, however, I'm not sure that you'll like the rest of the game.
