Saddam Paid for Democrats Iraq Trip

I'm sure this will be ignored by the media.

"WASHINGTON - Federal prosecutors say Saddam Hussein's intelligence agency secretly financed a trip to Iraq for three U.S. lawmakers during the run-up to the U.S.-led invasion.

An indictment in Detroit accuses Muthanna Al-Hanooti of arranging for three members of Congress to travel to Iraq in October 2002 at the behest of Saddam's regime. Prosecutors say Iraqi intelligence officials paid for the trip through an intermediary.

In exchange, Al-Hanooti allegedly received 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil.

The lawmakers are not mentioned but the dates correspond to a trip by Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott of Washington, David Bonior of Michigan and Mike Thompson of California. There was no indication the three lawmakers knew the trip was underwritten by Saddam."

I think this was the most relevent line in the article.  Obviously, it wasn't ignored in the media or you wouldn't have read about it.

It's "ignored" because it isn't being portrayed as a big deal, which in reality it is.  What did they know, and when did they know it?  LOL.

Does not seem to slow down the 9-11 left conspiracy theorists (not "knowing") when speculating about Bush.

Typical of someone to defend their political party as oppose to questioning the coincidence. I hope you never find yourself in a bad situation where the bad guys get away because they say "There was no indication".

Maybe I am the only who is interested to know how 3 of these people go to Iraq, and have "no indication" of who is sponsoring their trip.

Something else which the article doesn't say, is what were they there for? Why bother going? I honestly believe that Bush was already set on going into iraq by then.

 

Also, but please tell me how Loca is backing her party?
