'Warhammer Online' Delayed Till Fall 2008
Collector's Edition announced & detailed
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=128459EA Mythic has announced the expected limited edition for their upcoming MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The Warhammer Online Collector's Edition will reportedly be a true limited edition with limited qualities available only upon the title's launch. Videogamer.com reports that Europe is to have only 55,000 Collector's Editions for the region and EB Games states 60,000 copies are destined for North America.
The Collector's Edition is to include the game, "Art of Warhammer Online" a 224-page book, two miniature statues of Greenskin warboss Grumlok and shaman Gazbag (some assembly and painting required), a hardcover 128-page graphic novel entitled “Prelude to War,” an exclusive experience boosting in-game item known as Librams of Insight and 11 others, 12 bonus quests, 12 additional head models for additional character customization and 12 additional character titles. To boot, European players will reportedly receive an additional bonus, and exclusive mousepad. Warhammer Online Collector's Edition is currently priced at $79.99 and all those extras make the purchase sound worth it.
But with the good, comes the bad. Reports from a Paris press conference also indicate that the title has been delayed, again, till Fall 2008, with EB Games listing the title for mid-October release.
The delay is likely a good thing, as reports from beta testers were not generally flattering. Hopefully, EA Mythic spends the time polishing off the Games Workshop property.
