EA CFO Warren Jenson Steps Down
Odding timing stirs up analytical bee's nest
Warren Jenson, the Chief Financial Officer over at Electronic Arts, announced this morning that he will be leaving the company, but failed to specify as to why. EA was quick to point out that the executive's departure has nothing to do with the recent takeover bids EA has offered to Take-Two shareholders.
Jenson will remain with the company through the end of the company's fiscal year, which ends March 31st. Jenson joined EA in 2002 after serving in the same capacity for Amazon.com and Delta Airlines. A new CFO should be announced shortly.
”My tenure at EA has provided me with many good friends and memories,” said Warren Jenson. “It’s time for me to write the next chapter in my career – and I wish EA the best in the dynamic period ahead.”
Analysts have taken to the news like ants to honey, each putting in their own speculation ranging from Jenson not wanting to be a scapegoat on the Take-Two merger deal, to his departure simply being part of John Riccitiello's restructuring initiative.
