Best free MMORPG

ok I am looking for a good MMORPG is free (no subscriptions, am willing to pay a one off payment for initail download or disc etc)

 

what would you recomend? I like Sci-fi, but want something that had alot of dept, something I can really work at,as I don't wokr cos of a disability and have too much time on my hands, I did like Eve online (but can't afford the fees, and found it just daunting lol)

I'd recommend Depths of Peril. There's no PvP, but it's still fun.

If you liked Kingdom of Loathing, try Forumwarz.

Lots of hilarity... wouldn't recommend it for someone not fluent in internet culture, though.

you could try www.wurmonline.com unless you really want a fight-fest. If you give it a go, you should read through its dedicated wiki before playing so that you are well prepared to not make stupid mistakes like wot I did.

May I recommend Final Fantasy 11? The game is a subscription-based game and comes with 30 day Free Trial. It is an outdated game but the game is being consistently updated.

I'd also like to recommend Sword 2, a relativly new game (got a new expansion not too long ago). it's quite fun! they dont do an awfull lot of promotion but I came across it while surfing around and found it on www.gamecoach.tv , they hand out 3 free NPC cards aswell if you sign up.
