Chat in Multiplayer has been ruined with update 1.03

In 1.02, chat was:

1) simple as your last "mode" was locked as the default starting point for your next conversation....so for instance if you started taliking to allies and didn't change it, every future chat attempt would be to allies without having to make changes.

2) It was nice to see either player name (including color) or allies (which had it's own grey) but every communication target was very obvious whe writing a message through color coding.

In 1.03 chat is:

1) simplistic and crap, basically MIRC style with a quick tab to a/ instead of the "allies" and no colors on the player names

2) not lockable so you always have to switch to your target....this prompts pointless mistakes and makes communication less desirable (due to laziness or fear of mistakes when you are busy with other aspects).

I simply don't understand...chat was great, I didn't see complaints from users and you downgraded it to a basic crappy version from a visually pleasing practical version.......

I think we need to make this known so hopefully it can be switched back!

I totally agree with you on this topic. :D

The sooner they fix this the better.

Agreed. I like the fact that ICO chat got a facelift, and that people in chat can now message people in-game; kudos to IC for that development. But with the loss of color-coding and default targets, the barrier to using the in-game chat for in-game purposes--such as diplomacy--is higher now.

No. It's an improvement.

It just needs sticking and colors back. Which are, yes, HUGE HUGE flaws ontop of a big improvement, huge flaws that ruin the improvements.

They probably just didn't actually test it online to notice what we did.. I'm sure they're going to fix it. I believe they already said it'd be fixed in the next patch.

Anyways, already been brought up. Devs already know about it. Calm down.

What's the improvement, you just said that the things that were changed were the good parts. ???

Anyway, I agree with all of you guys, it needs to be switched back.

NO IT DOESNT NEED SWITCHED BACK.
It needs to stick and have colors.

The devs did a good job on making the ingame and ICO work between each other, chat beep, the scroll bar jumping down from all the join/leaves.

Oh, and yeah, theres your improvements.

Theres only TWO bad things(Albeit really bad), your last message doesn't stick, and there are no colors.
Theres like 20 things they improved ffs but you're too blinded by your ignorance to see them and just go "BAWWW BRING BACK 1.02" instead.

Another thing I'd love to see once they get the various features and balance fixed is a chat log. There's been times where text is flying too quickly and gets pushed off the screen before I finish reading it. There's also some bugs which completely wipe out all the player chat (even the few lines that are on your screen). Not a big deal in competitive matches since we use vent, but very annoying in random public games.
