How to change usericon....

kinda need help on this one

alright so i got every element of my logon screen working except for the user icon ..... no matter my efforts to edit the bmp, when i apply it like i did my others, it automaticly reverts back to the default user icon bmp....... could some of the experienced skinners out there describe how they solved my dilema on their last skin,

If you are asking about the user Icon you see in the logon screen as well as on top your start menu. It can not be changed by Logon studio. That can only changed by the user on their PC or Windowblinds if it is set to do so.

To change it on your PC go Start button/control panel/User Accounts/(click on the acount you want to change User icon on)/Change My Picture/ now select one fom the choices they offer or select (Browse for more pictures and select one form your PC). :)

A nice idea would be to zip it up with the logon in a zip file and offer it to the downloaders to use to make the look complete, remember to mention this in your skins description so they know its in there :)

i meant change the bmp behind the user icon.... the default image makes the login box look bad on a gray bg..... i very well am experienced enough to know how to perform a task as simple as changing a user icon.... >_>

Save your bmp file as Bitmap_112 direct into your Folder should work if having problems via LogonStudio

In LogonStudio to change it I click on button to open the Properties - User Account then click on Frame Picture click on the little box and browse for my button file and apply it that way. hope this helps.

Re- Read above if you mean change the user icon bmp in Properties - Usericon then found this wont change in Logonstudio but had never tried to change it until just now. Would think you would need to look in the file and change directly in there.

Just changed Bitmap-119 to new image and that worked had the new image when opened it in LogonStudio


Why do you want to change this.? usericon fills it when using it on computer.

Nope, there is 4 pixels all around that show for Bitmap_119.

How I do it,Bitmap_112, user account background must be 379x80. To make Bitmap_119, need a selection from 112 that is 58x58, rect select starting at 7 and 7, until selection is 58x58 in size. Crop to selection. Select all, contact by 3 pixels, new layer, fill with a gradient to get border for user pic.
