I'm planning on getting a digital model making program for my computer and i wanted to make a movie with my models.

Oh are you in for a lot of learning!

First you learn to model (polygon pushing)
Then you learn to Rig the model(s) (boning) - required for animation

There is a lot in between those two.

You also need to take classes in traditional art.

This sort of thing is more difficult than it seems to be at first glance.

To begin, I suggest several FREE programs:

The GIMP ( gimp.org ) high learning curve

Blender ( Blender.org ) steep learning curve

Wings3D (a modeling program)
