To quit, or to Surrender!!!

OK... really, plz... WHY is there a quit option?? everygame i go to people beg each other, guys plz surrender, dont quit.  Really.... WHY is there a quit option? If you cant commit to a game, dont go joining a 4v4 for 10ppl FFA?!?  Yes I know some times there are emergencys and all that, so you should concede or w/e and surrender.

I played a game last night where it was 3v3. We killed off one dude early, he QUIT.. so we still had to finish off his home planet. Grrr, annoying. Why didnt he surrender, he was finished, he lost, and to aviod a loss on his record he just quit!

now... 2 hrs later, we three are beatin down the other 2, and when the situation turned to be less favorable and more hopeless, 1 quit. yet again annoying... and then since the other was left alone, he quit. and he was the host!  the host quit because he was losing, so instead of getting a Win like the three of us deserved after 3hr of playing, we all get dropped.

Im not going to complain about getting dedicated servers and such, its pretty clear they wont. But why a quit option?? In every rts ive ever played, there was never a quit, well it might say quit, but it was surrender.

Say you drop, and you need everyone to leave the game so you can rehost the saved version.
You don't want to keep forkin' out a loss every time you need to leave and save a game do you?

Well its not like people dropping out is a huge problem, I totally agree that people leaving is a HUGE annoyance factor. If they want the option to be able to save and leave without, then they should seperate the game into ranked and unranked games, where it would only be in the ranked games you would get wins or losses - and if that would have to be at the expense of the save function, so be it - who use option that anyway?? It really is ridicoulus to have the quit function, if you wanna implement a function that depict how many wins and losses a player have - why not make it actually reflect reality!?

Did you get all the Vista hotfixes for gaming? Some of these should be installed already if you use windows update, some aren't.

There was a 4th but I can't recall it at the moment... Anyway, my SOASE crashes were due to memory overflows and one of these fixes that problem. Look here for info too:

Also, (re)install Directx 9.0c, Vista doesn't come with all the needed 9.0 dlls.
