If Patience Is a Virtue, I Hope There Are Others to Choose From

It is said that “patience is a virtue.”

A virtue is defined by the dictionary as “a good or admirable quality or property;” and a virtue is described in the encyclopedia as “a character trait valued as being good.”

Patience is defined by the dictionary as "1) the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like; 2) an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay; 3) quiet, steady perseverance; even-tempered care; diligence;" and patience is described in the encyclopedia as "the ability to endure waiting, delay, or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset, or to persevere calmly when faced with difficulties."

The Bible reminds us that “love is patient,” (1 Corinthians 13:4)...if only I could love being patient.

I was not blessed with the virtue of patience, so in an effort to make me feel adequate for lacking in this area, I have compiled a list of other virtues, many of which I can check off my list of personal virtues.

I'm moderately patient...I can go for quite sometime without feeling murderous rage, actually. :D

I got quite a few of those on that list if I do say so myself...reckon that means I'm not exactly evil. :) Good to know.

I read a book called "I prayed for patience and other horror stories".
