McCain Needs Some Backbone

McCain I thought you had a bit more backbone than this.  Why are you trying to appease the democrats and Barack Hussein Obama?  They are not going to treat you the same, and the attacks like the one from the NYT's haven't even really started yet.

CINCINNATI — Senator John McCain apologized Tuesday after a conservative radio host who helped introduce him before a rally used Senator Barack Obama’s middle name, Hussein, three times, while disparaging him.

I guess this is how the election will go, just let the media and democrats walk all over you.

I guess you thought I didn't know that. It is used in the same fashion, however, and for political reasons.

Could be appeasement, could just be him showing a bit of class which is something that is sorely lacking in politics today.

Honestly I like McCain for President because he isn't extremely right wing but more of a Centrist in many respects. I feel that's what the country needs more. The last thing we need are extreme left or right wing nuts running things.

I think he's demonstrating exactly what would make him a good President, an ability to work with both sides of the aisle to get things done.

Both of the Democratic candidates are pretty left wing which is why I don't want to see either of them elected any more than I would an extreme right winger.

Personally I hope McCain continues to demonstrate some class and an ability to compromise throughout the campaign.

Afraid that's the scary part - they've done enough to us already. The federal government needs to stop further insinuating itself into the fabric of our daily lives; I'd rather it retreat a fair distance from where it's already gone, actually.

I don't care too much for McCain, and although I have said I won't vote for him before, the more I read about Obama and his fanatic followers, I will vote for McCain.

I write more about this later.

His name could be Barak Hussein Hitler Stalin Pol Pot Obama and he would still get the majority of the black vote. Color trumps names any day of the week as far as some people go. The far left "anyone but Bush" crowd (even though he's not running) don't really give a damn whose on the Democratic ticket, otherwise Richardson seemed to have the best qualifications.

I personally don't think it matters much, but he should be proud about his name. He seems proud of his upbringing. His father left him at an early age, yet he seems to identify with the black community more (than may be politically motivated, don't know). I don't hear much about his white mother or family that raised him. I imagine it's a fine line personally. To the voters, sure it's cool to be with the rock star, but remember there are usually a lot of smashed, vomit encrusted hotel rooms after it's all over. You get what you asked for.

The thing about the whole, "I think it's great he took the high road here"... how many democrats are congratulating McCain for it.

So many democrats say they are glad for a Republican candidate they can respect... but how many of them are still going to hold their nose and vote for the Democrat they don't respect, but has a D after their name?
