VB and DX compatibility

I've recently gotten into OS customization, and love the trial I am using so far, but I want to be able to make my own desktops, so I'm picking up coding (Specifically VB), and PS.

What I'm asking is does DX support .NET code? So far from what I've read there are a few differences between .NET Framework coding and VB coding without .NET support. I need to know if I'm learning the right VB language, because so far I'm only reading up on .NET code. The book I'm reading says there are only a few differences, but coming from a background with no coding experience, it would be great to just start out with the right VB language.

In case you don't know what .NET Framework is, one of the tags is

Code: vb
  1. My.

Do that tag work in the DX compiler, or do you know if DX supports .NET?

It doesn't support .NET.

Yes, there is similar consistency between all VB languages but, primarily DX supports scripting in VBScript and JScript.

Scripting is limited compared to a full on programming languages such as VB or .NET but, DX does have plugin capabilities and the ability to use activeX controls.
