I just commented in a reply to a Loco article that I have some co-workers that are fairly rabid Hilldog fans.
One of those co-workers is absolutely certain that Barrack Obama is part of some vast rightwing conspiracy (gee, I wonder where he got that term from?) and that his winning in these recent caucuses and primaries is because of actions taken by the VRwC. Ha! As if.
What that co-worker and the loco Loca from this site (if she believes that sort of conspiracy thinking) would be missing is something that an intelligent individual would have picked up on ages ago...
That is, thanks to the screwey primary and caucus systems we have in many states in this country I'd wager a serious amount of money that if the VRwC was inspired to get involved in the race on the Democrat side at all, they'd take advantage of the open primaries to be running out to vote for the candidate they most wanted to face in the national election.
Seriously, if the Republicans want the weakest candidate, or the candidate they believe would generate the strongest showing for their own candidate in the national elections, they'd be out voting for Hillary in droves as they know full well that if Hillary is on the national ballot they are likely to be able to count on getting the most rabid of their own supporters out to vote against Hillary.
There's no way in hell the VRwC wants to see an Obama ticket. He's virtually untouchable. Attack him at all and you are an insensitive racist. Attack his lack of experience and you lose because you start hearing about how the old experience is the same old, same old while Obama represents change and hasn't been tainted by being in D.C. so long.
Fans of Hillary can cry and toss out mean words like 'shame' on Obama, but it won't change the status of things as they go now. Hillary is looking desperate, and her fans are grasping for straws in much the same way that Huckabee seems to be, thinking that they may yet have a chance to see their Queen coronated. As if there was ever a chance of that really happening.
