5v5 on a 25+ Star Map?

Like on a weekend / a whole day.

Hi!

Im wondering if theres any intrest in a 5v5 match in a galaxy with more than 25 stars?
Like over a weekend, my suggestion would be seventh of mars (03/07).
Would be a cool thing to do :) Make some new friends, play a TRULY epic game session :)

So? Whos with me?! :D

I might. I am still learning the game, and I need to play a few multiplayer sessions to make sure my connection is playable, but I might be interested.

*edit

25+ stars? Seriously thats overkill, how would you defend 5 star systems? And it seems like it would be knocked down to a 4v4 then 3v3 as soon as people started getting large fleets. No one player can defend against 5 players.

sounds like a giant game of hide and seek for the losing side

do we have a person with a quad core extreme to host the game?

the game would still start to lag due to the people with lesser specs....happens with 5 star games with my friend..once we start expanding into the 3rd system..he starts to lag a bit more often causing the came to have freezes periodically

I am totally in, I say we should do it in 5 hour chunks or something, and I have a 3.0 GHZ Quad Core system, so I'll host. Email me and we can set up the time and map and details. This will be amazingly epic.

Nice that some people are up for the idea! :D Yea ofc, those who participate should have high end systems. I run @ a dualcore and I have yet to have any lag caused by my own system. :)

Why not set up time and details here? So everyone can have a say? ^^

My suggestion is having the first session on seventh of mars, gives time to plan it and make a map etc. No need to rush things are there? :)

And if 25 stars is to much.. How about 15? or 17? I imagine it would be epic enough to.. not as epic as 25 stars.. but still :P

25 stars is fine if you put like 5 planets per star, not 25 to 100 planets. About how many planets/astriodes/space anomies are you planning to have, roughly?

I was thinking in the lines of 5 planets 2-3 asteroids and perhaps one or two space junkstuff per star.

Reminds me of the DoV maps (lots of stars, little planets per star)..I'd be in.

PS: I made a 175 star map and ran it about 30fps. :)

25 stars is really cool if done on the random map generator in-game. Whats always fun to do, is to make the first star belong to no one, and give it lots of wormholes and asteroids, so the wormholes connect to various other parts of the "mini galaxy." I would definitely be into something like this. 5v5... wheres the sign up? this will take tricky planning to get everyone on agree-able playing schedules.

How many people are willing right now? we can't really schedule a date until more people are avilable.
