Glitchy skinning issue

I've just started on my first Vista skin. It's also my first using exclusively Sks6.

I've run into a strange and very annoying issue and I'm going to try to describe it in as much detail as possible.

Yesterday Photoshop stopped working properly (Photoshop CS3 extended). Here's what happens: I open PS and either open an existing doc or create a new one. So far, so good. Ok, I want to save...... nope! Everything in the dropdown menu is listed as inactive. The same goes for layers menu and others. So the gist is, I can only do one action in PS before everything is locked.

At first I thought it was a problem with PS, so I did an uninstall/reboot/download PS/install/reboot. The problem persists! Logged on to IRC to ask for advice and got some good suggestions like doing a reg. clean, defragment etc. Nothing helped

Then I started thinking about what I was doing when the problem started. Ah, I was building a WB. Ok, so I unloaded WB and tested PS. Bingo! everything works fine. My second test was to apply a different skin. Turns out, PS works fine with every skin except the one I'm working on :( Even older skins by me and other authors don't create a conflict. I opened my skin in Sks and saved it under a different name. Applied it. Same issue. I updated WB6 and SKS6..... no help there. I even ran an update on Photoshop. I've done multiple reboots in between actions, as well.

So far, the only thing I've skinned on this theme is the start panel. I haven't even touched any other section, so my question is: What have I done to "break" this skin? Or is it a faulty template that I'm working from? It's not too late to rebuild from scratch if that's what it takes, but I wanted to ask for ideas before doing that :)

I'm bumping this only because it doesn't show up in "Recent Forum Activity" when you open the forums page.

Someone suggested that I upload here and click on "show on personal page only", but I don't know if you have moderator access here.

Tim try it with the window not maximized make the top left corner of the window about middle of the screen see if the buttons work then!

I'm so relieved..... I'm going out to sea today for 14 days, and need my PS to skin! I'm glad there isn't anything wrong with my skin too :)

It's a fix, but temporary. The problem happens every time I close and reopen PS. I have to resize window, click on file, then max the window again (:(

I can't run Photoshop properly maximized when WB is running, the menus will be left disabled. If you don't have it maximized you can just drag the edges out of the edge so it appears to be maximized, then you have access to the menus again. That works for me, although it is a little bit annoying to do that workaround.

I really wish Photoshop and Windowblinds would play well together. I have excluded PS from being skinned in the WB config. This allows me to use PS maximized, but it's sooooooo ugly! :SNIFF!: X-( :SNIFF!: X-(

I don't maximize Photoshop either....I just have the edges dragged to where it looks like it is maximized. And I have it skinned as well...works for me. Interestingly though, I can run Paint Shop Pro maximized without any problems...go figure! I think it is something with Photoshop, since I can run every other program maximized without problems.

CS2 runs fine for me, so I would say it's Photoshop CS3.  :HOT:

Mine does it erratically .As a matter pf fact it started again yesterday after a reboot ,1st time in 2 weeks. When it does it nearly all programs have a dead set of buttons and menu bar, items and drop downs in the upper left corner of the screen.Approx.150 pixels down and 150 pixels from the left.

Affected items are back,forward,refresh,...file,edit...etc...
