It really does make me sad that Titanic is the top grossing film worldwide, I hope ROTK kicks its ass.
And now a little free association:
Bernard Hill played the captain of the ship in Titanic and played King Theodin in LOTR, so regardless, this fairly unkown actor will likely be in the two top grossing (worlwide) films of all time.
And, having absolutely nothing to do with ROTK, but important because it was the last movie I saw before ROTK:
Kate Winslet was in Titanic, before that she lied about her age to get the part as Marianne in Sense and Sensibility, which was written by Jane Austen but the screenplay was adapted by Emma Thompson, who won an oscar for it and also played Elenore the main role.
In S&S Thompson's character falls in love with Hugh Grant's Edward Ferris and Kate Winslet's character falls in love with first Greg Wise's Mr. Willoughby and then Alan Rickman's Colonel Brandon. Emma Thompson is now married to Greg Wise.
Thompson was also in Love Actually, where she was married to Alan Rickman and sister to Hugh Grant. Whhhoo...
Also in Sensse and Sensibility, Gemma Jones played the mother of Emma and Kate, and then would later play Rene Zellwegger's mother in Bridget Jones where she falls in love with Mark Darcy played by the lucious Colin Firth.
Firth also portaryed a different Darcy in BBC's Pride and Prejudice, which was also written by Jane Austen and was made about the same time as Sense & Sensibility.
What's funny about this is that Colin Firth is also in Love Actually, but because the movie was so freakin complicated, I can't figure out exactly what his relationship to Thompson or Grant or Rickman is.
*This therefore proves my theory that there are only, like, 6 British actors making movies right now and everyone else should bugger off.....or something Victorian like that.
