"Access Denied: Please login with administrator privileges and try again"

The other day I tried the demo, liked it and bought Political Machine today. I installed it and then updated to 1.1. When I attempted to start the game I recieved a popup saying "Access Denied: Please login with administrator privileges and try again" I have never seen this before. Any advice?

Addendum: I attempted to reinstall the game without the patch and the same error results. My computer is an Alienware, less than a year old, exceeds all listed requirements and runs windows XP. I have also rebooted the machine to no avail. The demo was uninstalled prior to the installation. I'm really confused by this error as I have only one login to XP so what sort of administrator privaleges is it even asking for? Please help!

Some further info about my setup: geforce FX 5900. DirectX 9.0c and I have not yet installed service pack 2 for XP (everyone says to wait).

My CD Rom drive is a Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-352B. Is this likely a problem with "copy protection"?

It has now been 3 days and I have yet to receive any response. I cannot play the game for some reason and can't return it either. My machine has never had any problem like this with any other game (including other Stardock titles). If this is not the proper place to seek technical support please tell me where else I should go?
