CBS memo scandal updated links

Some new stuff

Things keep getting worse and worse for CBS as the evidence mounts that the memos they used to try to make George W. Bush look bad were simply cranked out on MS Word using its default settings rather than in 1973.

The denials from the left are really almost..sad at this point. Can you imagine if criminal investigations were this partisan? "You can't trust that finger print, sure it matches exactly but if you can't prove that someone else in the world doesn't have that same finger print you must acquit!"

Here are some links of interesting.

CBS took it and ran with it, not even bothering to back it up. They were just so happy to smear the President. Clearly they are in the Kerry camp.
Unbiased news? Hardly.

Not really. It could be ANYONE who hates Bush.

No. Not with 7.5 weeks to go before the Presidential election. If that is all it was, would this not have surfaced any time in the last 30 years? Or in the last 4 years? Heck, even in the last 9 months? If you are trying to scandal monger against an elected official weeks before the election, it can be assumed that you favor the opponent.

But then again, maybe nobody favors the opponent. Is not the campaign slogan, "At least he is not Bush!" ?

When all else fails, and in this case everything fails, they'll blame it on... who else, Karl Rove. You watch.

The celluloid-wisdom link has been taken down or is broken, FWIW, Brad.

It's amazing the lack of coverage this story is getting still. Hopefully someone will get all of the evidence out to the public. You can defend the memo to the general public by saying the superscripted 'th' was possible at the time, but given everything together and actually seeing the evidence, it's over, no possible case can be made. My money is on O'Reilly getting behind this BIG time. This is a huge opportunity for cable news to benefit from CBS's mistake.

Here's some more analysis of the memo (font-wise)
It goes into talking about some of Word's idiosyncracies, such as a space inserted before the 'th' in '147 th' to prevent Word from superscripting it.

CBS is complicit. They won't reveal their source because they know the memos are false. They will follow Clinton's example - "I did not have sex with that woman" until someone can produce a "blue dress", in this case bloggers' evidence.

The real threat to our democracy is elimination of checks and balances in the press. Don't expect mainstream media to jump on the bandwagon and demand that CBS be accountable. It runs counter to their mutual goal to elect Kerry by distorting the truth. The hypocrisy would be unbearable.

The real reason (IMHO) Rather won't give up his source is because the source is so partisan that for him to admit accepting (on faith basically) what this person gave him would be to out himself as an opperative for the "Not Bush" campaign.

Hmm, my friend (a hard core liberal) do believe the memo is from Karl Rove.
