Game Corrupts

Both myself and my brother have had issues with the game corrupting itself. We haven't been able to reproduce the things that cause this, as it appears very random. We both are using entirely different computer systems though they both are windows xp. He bought the online version via his star dock account, I bought the retail version. After several games playing it online multiplayer together both of our copies get corrupted, by this I mean everything works fine until you select the candidates and than push the start button, it than drops you back to the desktop. If you play a mulitplayer game the end result is the same, but it has other oddities such as he will select say George W. Bush, but on my screen it will say Condolezza Rice. Any help would be appreciated.

You may have slightly different versions. Did you get the update?

And you're not using custom candidates, right?

We both have version 1.01, the game works fine for approx 2-5 games, and than at some unknown point corrupts, sometimes mine will, sometimes his will, sometimes both will. If you do an uninstall and reinstall everything works again, rinse and repeat. We have tried only original candidates, custom candidates, and even custom candidates with custom photos. No single thing corrupts it, but at some point in time it happens. I thought perhaps others who have had this problem could perhaps chime in and we could 'figure it out'. As noted my game is the retail cd version, so it takes all of a couple minutes to uninstall and reinstall, he has to completely redownload the game each time which is a major pain in the ass. Once the game is corrupted you can't start even a regular game by yourself, it just drops you to the windows screen. I hope that was helpful info that I provided, and hopefully someone with a similar issue will be able to come in and describe a detail I am missing. But from the appearance of the online lobbies not many appear to be playing multiplayer, at least not when I am on.

But did you install the update? Even though you both have version 1.01, you could still have a slightly different version of 1.01 particularly if either have you have installed any of the test exes floating around. If you e-mail me and cc your friend, I can send you instructions on how to make certain that you both have the same version.
